Propagandists faked a video about ATB supermarket, trying to sow panic in Ukraine

"Z blogger" Telegram channels have recently reported that in an ATB supermarket located at 159 Vyshneva Street in Kherson, prices for products began to be indicated not only in Ukrainian hryvnias, but also in Russian roubles. This is allegedly because Ukrainians are being prepared for "changes." The propagandists shared a video showing packages of tomatoes and cucumbers allegedly bought in this store, with price tags in both hryvnias and roubles.

The video is fake. Firstly, there is no ATB store located at 195 Vyshneva Street in Kherson, although there is one nearby.

Secondly, the greenhouse tomatoes mentioned in the video cost UAH 89.89, rather than UAH 96.63 per kilo. There is no information on the availability of first-grade cucumbers and their prices on the website.

Serhii Demchenko, head of the communications department at ATB Corporation, said in a comment to Ukrinform that information about prices for products in roubles was fake and there was no such thing at ATB stores in Kherson.

By spreading such fakes, the Russians are trying to sow panic inside Ukraine and mistrust of the authorities amid reports that are circulating on the internet about Russia's plans to prepare for a new large-scale offensive. Earlier, Financial Times journalists published an article that the Russian army may be planning a large-scale offensive in Ukraine already this summer, and the goal is to completely capture the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Ukraine's Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security, in turn, explained why the situation was not critical.

Earlier, Ukrinform refuted a Russian fake about a fabricated advertisement from an ATB supermarket.
