Hot weather raises extreme fire danger across Ukraine

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has issued a warning for critical fire weather conditions expected in some regions of Ukraine on August 18-22.

"On August 18-22, extreme (5 class) fire hazard is expected in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Volyn, Khmelnytsky regions and on August 19-22 in Rivne region,” the State Emergency Service reported with a reference to the Ukrainian Meteorology Center.

Also, the State Emergency Service issued warning for Kyiv and Kyiv region, where fire hazard also remains high.

The Emergency Service called on Ukrainian citizens to follow general fire safety rules while staying in forests, parks, and open areas and not to provoke fires in ecosystems.
