Power outages reported in six regions due to massive Russian attack
According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
"Overnight, the enemy carried out another massive missile and drone attack on Ukrainian power grid facilities. As a result of this, as well as enemy artillery strikes along the front line, there are new power outages as of this morning in the Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever security conditions currently permit," the statement reads.
It is also reported that as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, electricity consumption was at the same level as the previous day. At the same time, due to the consequences of Russian cyberattacks on energy infrastructure, power restriction schedules for industry will be in effect in most regions of Ukraine until the end of the day. Additionally, hourly power outages are planned for all user categories from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
"Please use electricity wisely. Given the weather conditions, it is advisable to shift active electricity consumption to the period when solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please do not turn on several high-power electrical appliances simultaneously in the evening hours from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.," Ukrenergo notes.
As reported, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, Russian forces launched a combined strike against critical infrastructure in Ukraine, using attack drones as well as air- and ground-launched missiles. According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, Air Defense Forces shot down or intercepted 390 targets—25 missiles and 365 drones of various types. Six missiles and 27 attack UAVs struck 22 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 10 locations.
