EU’s financial support for Ukraine reaches EUR 168.9B, von der Leyen says

Von der Leyen posted this on X, Ukrinform reports.

“EU solidarity with Ukraine is unwavering. Today, the EU disburses over €4 billion to support Ukraine. This is our commitment not only to Ukraine’s recovery, but to its future as a sovereign and democratic country,” von der Leyen wrote.

Her post notes that, with this allocation, total financial support for Ukraine from the EU and its member states has now reached €168.9 billion.

Meanwhile, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos posted on X that the new financial package “this is the result of Ukraine’s own reforms and determination.”

“These efforts must continue – and the EU will stand by Ukraine every step of the way,” Kos added.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that Ukraine has received EUR 4.05 billion in international aid, including EUR 1 billion under ERA Loans financed from frozen Russian assets and EUR 3.05 billion under the Ukraine Facility for reconstruction and integration.

Svyrydenko also noted that the government is likely to seek additional funding from the International Monetary Fund.
