In Ukraine, revenues from tourist tax increased by third
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Tax Service.
“Compared to the same period last year, this is 33.2% more, or UAH 35.5 million. In the first half of 2024, tourist tax revenues amounted to UAH 107.1 million,” the report said.
It is noted that more than 43% of the tourist tax paid in January-June 2025 went to the local budgets of Kyiv and Lviv regions. These regions continue to lead among the most popular tourist destinations in Ukraine.
According to the State Tax Service, UAH 34.8 million in tourist tax was transferred to the capital's budget, while Lviv region received UAH 26.6 million.
Ivano-Frankivsk (UAH 22.1 million) and Zakarpattia (UAH 11.8 million) regions are also among the leaders.
As tax officials reminded, the tourist tax is paid by Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons as an advance payment before temporary accommodation in hotels, hostels, holiday homes, etc. The collected funds are then transferred to the local budget.
As reported, in 2024, Lviv region set a record by collecting over UAH 47 million in tourist tax.
