The arms produced by Ukraine’s defense industry enterprises with the support of German investments, namely long-range weapons, can be quickly delivered to the front.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Strategic Industries Deputy Minister Davyd Aloian in an interview with Ukrinform.

“The available production capacities allow us to promptly produce and deliver arms to users, including the long-range weapons funded by Germany,” Aloian told, commenting on the statement by Bundeswehr Major General Christian Freuding that Ukraine could receive long-range weapons produced with Germany’s support by late July 2025.

The Ukrainian official expressed gratitude to Germany for its financial contribution to the production of Ukrainian-made weapons to meet the needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. At the same time, Aloian refused to disclose any details of such cooperation. He only mentioned that, since the decision to produce such weapons in Ukraine was announced in May 2025, Ukraine’s defense industry had been actively working to complete relevant tasks.

“We highly appreciate this form of cooperation and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the German side on ways to attract additional financial resources to our defense industry,” Aloian said.

In this regard, he recalled a Memorandum of Cooperation, which had recently been signed between the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry (UCDI). This document refers to a joint R&D process. As noted by Aloian, the memorandum has established a format that will be developed in the future.

Overall, according to the deputy minister, the R&D process has been taking place in Ukraine for several years. There are already projects that have been implemented jointly with the support of partners.

As part of reorganization measures, the Ukrainian government endorsed a decision to merge the Defense Ministry with the Strategic Industries Ministry. For this purpose, a liquidation commission was created. The process is underway and may last several weeks or even months. Meanwhile, the ministry’s staff, namely deputy ministers, continue working as scheduled and perform their duties.
