Ukraine sends 3,850 more tonnes of wheat flour to Syria

That’s according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukraine continues to support the Syrian people. Another batch of humanitarian aid has arrived in Syria. In collaboration with the UN World Food Programme, the flour will be distributed among local bakeries,” said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitalii Koval.

He has noted that the Ukrainian flour will be sufficient to feed almost 60,000 people for six months.

The Minister recalled that Ukraine previously delivered 500 tonnes of wheat flour for 33,250 families. He added that he personally visited Syria and spoke with the Minister of Agriculture about their future needs, so the work continues.

As reported, during his visit to Syria, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitalii Koval met with Minister of Agriculture Mohammed Al Ahmad to discuss cooperation in the agricultural sector.

According to Koval, Syria's primary interests lie in livestock products such as meat and dairy, as well as wheat, barley, oil, sugar, and flour. The discussions also encompassed potential mutual trade opportunities, with Ukraine offering wheat, barley, oil, sugar, and flour, while Syria proposed exporting nuts and fruits.
