Ukraine has already received EUR 2.5 billion out of the EUR 6.1 billion that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) committed to providing since February 2022.

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry's press service announced this following a meeting between Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion and through the end of 2024, the EBRD has committed over EUR 6.1 billion to Ukraine, of which EUR 2.5 billion has already been received by Ukraine. This support is extremely timely and crucial amid the severe economic challenges caused by Russian aggression," Marchenko said.

As of early February 2025, the EBRD's active project portfolio in Ukraine's public sector consists of 12 projects with a total loan volume of EUR 2.4 billion, of which EUR 1.1 billion has already been raised.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of existing projects and potential areas for expanding cooperation.

In the public sector, Ukraine's economic collaboration with the EBRD is primarily focused on supporting liquidity for NPC Ukrenergo, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, and JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

A total of EUR 1.19 billion has been allocated to support liquidity and resilience, with EUR 724 million specifically directed toward emergency gas purchases to ensure uninterrupted heating seasons in Ukraine.
