Emergency power outages were introduced in eight Ukrainian regions early on February 4.

Ukraine's national power grid operator Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Due to damage caused by enemy missile and drone attacks on power generation and transmission facilities, emergency outages have been applied today in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad regions, and parts of the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions," the statement said.

As of 07:30 on February 4, electricity consumption was 2.8% higher than on February 3. Ukrenergo attributed this increase to lower temperatures across Ukraine.

"Please use electricity sparingly from 07:00 to 22:00 today. If possible, avoid using high-power electrical appliances and do not run multiple devices simultaneously," the energy operator warned.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported that on February 3, repair crews restored power to 1,153 consumers who had been left without electricity due to hostilities.

Earlier, on February 3, emergency blackouts were introduced in nine regions following Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
