NBU sells $421M on interbank market on Jan 22-26

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) sold $421.3 million on the interbank foreign exchange market last week.

That's according to the website of the central bank, Ukrinform reports.

According to the results of foreign exchange interventions, from January 22 to January 26, 2024, the NBU sold $421.3 million and bought $0.52 million on the interbank foreign exchange market.

Since the beginning of 2024, the central bank has sold $2.415 billion and bought $1.17 million on the interbank market.

In 2023, the NBU sold $28.829 billion and bought $219.85 million on the interbank market.

The NBU decided to switch to the regime of managed flexibility of the exchange rate from October 3, 2023. The fixed exchange rate of UAH 36.5686 per U.S. dollar was in place in Ukraine from the end of July 2022 to October 3, 2023.
