Warsaw has provided PLN 50 billion (about EUR 11 billion) in aid to Kyiv, or about 2% of Poland's GDP, since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Polish Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska said this at a meeting at the Atlantic Council in Washington on Friday, April 14, according to Ukrinform.

"The total amount of spending for Ukraine is up to 2% of our GDP, or around 50 billion Polish zlotys," Rzeczkowska said.

She called this an important position in Poland's budget.

Rzeczkowska said that despite the fact that Poland has not received proper compensation from the EU for its support to Ukraine, "it's something that has to be done because Ukraine is fighting for our future, for our values, for our freedom."
