Ukraine’s recovery to require cooperation between government and private sector - Marchenko

Ukraine's rapid recovery depends largely on how quickly the private sector will develop, which requires significant foreign investments.

According to Ukrinform, the press service of the Finance Ministry reported this following the results of the U.S.-Ukraine Partnership Forum at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Discussions within the Forum were focused on stimulating investments, revealing the market potential in Ukraine and building a sustainable future.

"Recovery efforts will require strong and sustained cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the private sector. I am convinced that large-scale investments will become a key component of the recovery, a basis of the Marshall Plan for Ukraine. And our partners can offer business investment insurance against military risks," said Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko.

He stressed that the rapid recovery of Ukraine largely depends on how quickly the private sector will develop, and for this, significant foreign investments are needed.

Marchenko called on foreign businesses to invest in Ukraine and assured that the Ukrainian government is ready to cooperate: "We understand that we have to offer investors favorable conditions under which the private sector will feel confident and secure, which the government is already actively working on."

As reported by Ukrinform, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation Makhtar Diop discussed the expansion of public private partnership.
