Ukrainians have already generated more than 13.6 million sick leave e-certificates. The economic effect resulting from the introduction of this tool has been estimated at about UAH 4 billion.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development - Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov during the presentation of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Several years ago, in cooperation with the [Ukrainian] Health Ministry, we introduced sick leave e-certificates. We estimate the economic effect resulting from this reform at UAH 4 billion. A total of 13.6 sick leave e-certificates have already been generated. Hence, now it is impossible to buy a sick leave, while it used to be a big corruption scheme,” Fedorov told.

A reminder that, on October 1, 2021, Ukraine fully replaced sick leave paper certificates with electronic ones.
