PM Shmyhal urges to expel Russia from FATF

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and German Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner discussed the increase in funding security assistance to Ukraine and the need to expel Russia from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

As the Government portal reports, the parties discussed the German government's proposal to increase the budget for security assistance to Ukraine from EUR 697 million to EUR 2 billion in 2023. Shmyhal thanked Lindner for supporting this initiative.

Prime Minister Shmyhal and Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko informed the German side about the urgent need to restore the energy infrastructure. Further financial cooperation in the long term and Germany's support for the allocation of the EU’s macro-financial assistance were also touched upon.

Shmyhal thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for supporting sanctions against the aggressor and emphasized the need for adopting a decision to expel Russia from FATF.

As reported, Shmyhal makes a working visit to Berlin.
