Zelensky: Russia kills more than 700 children in Ukraine since start of full-scale invasion
According to Ukrinform, he stated this on Telegram.
"Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, at least 707 Ukrainian children have been killed. Behind every number is a child whose future has been stolen. Russia must be held accountable for these crimes," Zelensky stated.
He added that June 4 marks the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, a day dedicated to honoring children affected by war and violence.
As previously reported, Ukraine commemorates on June 4 the children who have died as a result of Russia's armed aggression against the country. This memorial day was established by a resolution of the Ukrainian parliament in 2021.
The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is observed annually on June 4. It was established by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly during a special session on Palestine in 1982. The day serves as an opportunity to draw global attention to the aggression and violence faced by children around the world.
