Ukraine intends to resume and expand agricultural exports, attract Chinese investment in agricultural, industrial and technology parks in Ukraine, infrastructure and energy projects.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna said this during a meeting with with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine Fan Xianrong on September 7, the Government portal reported.

"Ninety percent of corn imported by China in 2019 was of Ukrainian origin. We do not relax our efforts and strive to create even more opportunities for Ukrainian export business to China, as well as re-export to other countries, in particular through free customs zones in China. This applies to products such as cereals, meat, fish, eggs, berries and fruits, dairy products, vegetable oils, confectionery and alcoholic beverages, animal feed components and other products. We are discussing this with our Chinese partners," Stefanishyna stressed.

The sides discussed further cooperation in investment projects, in particular, the development of industrial parks specializing in storage, processing, transhipment of food products; technology parks for the development and integration of production and processing of agricultural products; and investment projects in the field of transport infrastructure and energy, expanding the list of such projects under China's One Belt One Road (OBOR) Initiative.

"Ukraine has already approved an action plan with China to implement the initiative of joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Maritime Silk Road of the 21st century. We are now moving towards the development of a roadmap and the establishment of a working group between the Chinese Embassy and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine to enhance cooperation," Stefanishyna noted.
