Ukraine plans to export 54 mln tonnes of grain

Ukraine plans to export 54 million tonnes of grain in the current marketing year, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine has reported.

“According to the ministry’s estimates, this year’s grain harvest amounted to about 75 million tonnes, 54 million tonnes of which will be exported to foreign markets. We will receive final forecasts of grain production in March according to the State Statistics Service,” Deputy Economic Development Minister Taras Vysotsky said.

From the beginning of 2019/2020 marketing year [July 2019 - June 2020] as of January 10, 2020, Ukraine exported 32.078 million tonnes of grain crops, which is 7.8 million tonnes more than in the same period last year.

In particular, wheat exports amounted to 15.1 million tonnes; corn exports – 12.8 million tonnes; rye exports – 5 thousand tonnes; barley exports – 3.8 million tonnes.

In addition, from the beginning of 2019/2020 MY, Ukraine has exported 197 thousand tonnes of flour, which is 68.5 thousand tonnes more than in the same period of the last marketing year.
