Naftogaz Group, Microsoft sign memorandum of cooperation

As Ukrinform learnt from the press service of Naftogaz, the parties consider cooperation opportunities for the digital transformation of the Naftogaz Group's IT function through the implementation of information technology and efficient processes.

"Based on experience of Microsoft’s cooperation with global oil and gas industry leaders, we intend to jointly implement best practices in IT and automation, improve operational efficiency and develop our technical capabilities. Many issues have to be solved for this, starting with the implementation of complex IT systems and ending with improvements that will enhance the current work of our drilling, extracting and transportation units,” said CEO of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev.

The parties are expected to jointly determine the most effective form of cooperation.

The key areas for partnership in the digital transformation of IT function are as follows: improving personnel qualification, optimizing the Group's internal processes and introducing artificial intelligence in the oil and gas industry.
