Russian gas monopoly Gazprom plans to continue bilateral gas talks with Ukraine in the coming days.

"We will continue negotiations with the Ukrainian side in bilateral format in the coming days," Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said following the Normandy format talks in Paris, TASS reports.

On Monday, December 9, at a joint press conference following the Normandy Four summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the gas price for industrial consumers in Ukraine could be 25% lower if Moscow and Kyiv agree on "honest joint work."

In turn, Executive Officer of Naftogaz Group of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko told reporters that Ukraine and Russia had not agreed on a new contract on Russian gas transit to Europe through Ukrainian territory.

The agreement between the economic entities of Ukraine and Russia on terms of transportation of Russian gas to Europe via the Ukrainian territory expires on December 31, 2019. The parties are currently in talks to sign a new agreement.
