EU to invest EUR 50 mln in Ukraine’s river logistics

The European Union is investing EUR 50 million in the development of Ukrainian river logistics, according to the Government portal.
Ukraine has a huge growth potential in river traffic. EUR 50 million is required for sustained growth. Ukraine has already received EUR 20 million from the EU as technical assistance.
Ukraine also agreed to receive a loan of EUR 30 million for the repair of locks, dredging works and logistics facilities in the Dnipro river. If a number of conditions is met, Ukraine will be able to receive the loan from the EU for a period of 30 years at 1% per annum.
