Azerbaijan makes advance payment for two Ukrainian AN-178 aircraft

Ukraine has already received advance payment for the first two aircraft An-178 in accordance with the contract with Azerbaijan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennady Zubko has made a statement during his visit to Antonov state enterprise, Ukrinform reports.
"We have the contract order for 10 aircraft. We obtained advance payment for the first two aircraft in June. We are grateful to Azerbaijan who is not afraid to finance the project," the minister noted.
Recall that Azerbaijan is a first customer for An-178. The relevant agreement with Antonov state enterprise was signed in May of 2015.
The AN-178 is a Ukrainian short-haul military turbofan transport aircraft that was designed by Antonov company on the basis of the passenger An-158 (AN-148-200). The maiden flight of the aircraft took place on May 7, 2015. The plane’s carrying capacity is estimated at 15-18 tons.
