Yanukovych picks Sorkin for NBU governor

. President Viktor Yanukovych has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft decree on the appointment of Ihor Sorkin as Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

A reminder that now Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Ihor Sorkin is serving as acting Chairman of the National Bank after Serhiy Arbuzov was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.

On Thursday, January 10, the Verkhovna Rada will consider a draft resolution on the dismissal of Arbuzov as chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.
