Russia’s war casualty toll in Ukraine up by 1,080 over past day

The total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through May 8, 2026, amount to approximately 1,340,270 personnel, including 1,080 killed or wounded over the past day.

According to Ukrinform, the figures were published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

Russia has also lost: 11,920 (+1) tanks, 24,541 (+3) armored combat vehicles, 41,712 (+82) artillery systems, 1,780 (+2) multiple launch rocket systems, 1,371 (+1) air defense systems, 435 aircraft, 352 helicopters, 1,351 (+7) ground robotic systems, 281,208 (+1,479) operational-tactical UAVs, 4,585 cruise missiles, 33 warships / boats, 2 submarines, 95,252 (+373) vehicles and fuel tankers, 4,173 pieces of special equipment.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, as of 22:00 on May 8, there had been 200 combat engagements along the frontline, with Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelling 30 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.
