Budanov confirms that partners asked Ukraine not to strike Russian oil terminals

Partners have approached Ukraine with requests not to destroy Russian oil terminals, but Ukraine has its own national interests.

He said this during a briefing at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Responding to a question about whether it is true that partners had asked Ukrainian authorities not to destroy Russian oil terminals, he said: "I can only say in general terms: yes, this exists. Why does it happen? As an intelligent person, you can understand – it is a matter of price formation. But we have our own war."

The head of the Presidential Office added that Ukraine has faced similar requests throughout the full-scale war. "I have encountered similar things in various aspects… and all of us have faced this since 2022. There has been a lot of this. Recall when there were scandals about certain units entering, for example, on foreign-made equipment into Russian territory; or when weapons were used in ways that someone did not like. They can be understood, that is their perspective, but we also have our own truth and our national interest. And it is exactly what it is. We are not stopping," Budanov emphasized.

As reported, on the night of April 7, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the "Ust-Luga Oil" terminal in Slobodka, Leningrad region of the Russian Federation.

On April 6, drones from the Security Service of Ukraine's Special Operations Center "Alpha," together with other components of the Defense Forces (Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, and the State Border Guard Service), carried out an attack on the "Sheskharis" oil terminal at the Novorossiysk seaport in Russia's Krasnodar region.
