Fedorov: Another ₴1.6 billion allocated for anti-drone nets in frontline regions and border areas
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov wrote about this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Near the front line, Russia is using drones as a tool of terror against civilian cars, rescuers, and repair crews. At the President's instructions, we are strengthening protection of frontline territories and accelerating the construction of anti-drone nets. The focus is on roads that ensure uninterrupted logistics and the functioning of communities near the line of combat," Fedorov emphasized.
According to him, an additional ₴1.6 billion has been allocated from the budget. In February, despite challenging weather conditions, 125 kilometers of roads were covered, and 55 kilometers of structures were restored.
"In just one month, we increased the speed from 5 km per day in January to 12 km per day in February. This has significantly improved the safety of military movements and ensured the stable functioning of frontline communities. In March, we plan to close 20 km of roads per day. By the end of the year, we plan to install another 4,000 km of anti-drone protection on motorways," Fedorov said.
At the same time, he added, the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions is accelerating to ensure the stability of defense and counteract enemy offensive actions.
As reported by Ukrinform, the range at which Russian drones operate is increasing in southern Ukraine.
