In Dnipro and Odesa, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police of Ukraine have detained two agents of the Russian Federation who carried out arson attacks and acts of sabotage.

That is according to the SBU press service, Ukrinform reports.

"The investigation established that both suspects are local residents who agreed to work for the enemy in exchange for money. However, instead of the promised 'earnings' from Russia, they now face the prospect of life imprisonment," the statement said.

In Dnipro, authorities exposed an agent of the Federal Security Service (FSB) who set fire to an armored evacuation vehicle BTS-4 that was stationed at a Ukrainian railway facility for further deployment to the frontline.

The suspect also attempted to destroy a mobile communication base station using a flammable mixture in order to cut off local residents from network access.

In Odesa, a 25-year-old repeat offender, previously convicted of theft, was served with suspicion. During his probation period, he committed a new crime.

According to case materials, the suspect tracked vehicles belonging to Ukrainian service members and, under the coordination of Russian special services, set them on fire.

It was established that his next assignment was to prepare a terrorist attack in Odesa. For this purpose, Russian handlers instructed him to assemble an improvised explosive device with remote activation.

Law enforcement officers detained the agent near his residence immediately after the first arson attack on a Defense Forces vehicle.

Both suspects have been notified of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including sabotage committed under martial law, obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces, and intentional destruction or damage to property.

They are currently being held in custody without the possibility of bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier, military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a deputy school principal suspected of directing Russian missile and drone strikes on Kramatorsk.
