Head of DIU met with unit commanders on Zaporizhzhia front

Lieutenant General Oleh Ivashchenko, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (DIU) of the Ministry of Defense, and commanders of units on the Zaporizhzhia frontline have identified ways to deepen cooperation and coordination between all components of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ivashchenko made a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia front. During a joint meeting with the commander of the troop group in the area and the commanders of the relevant military units, they discussed the current situation on the battlefield, analyzed the plans and intentions of the Russians, and identified ways to deepen cooperation and coordination between all components of the Defense Forces, in particular with regard to strengthening all types of intelligence.

Important points in the conversation were the increase in the supply of the latest technical reconnaissance equipment and the issue of training reconnaissance personnel in accordance with the requirements of modern warfare.

Ivashchenko listened to reports from the commanders of the DIU military units involved in combat operations on the Zaporizhzhia front.

The head of military intelligence expressed his gratitude to the soldiers of the Department of Active Operations and the “Timur Special Unit” of the Main Intelligence Directorate for their daily armed struggle for the freedom and dignity of the Ukrainian nation.

"Thank you for your daily work. The fate of Ukraine today depends on our resilience and professionalism. I emphasize that our units must act proactively - that is why it is so important to obtain and possess high-quality intelligence information. Special thanks to the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate for the stable replenishment of the exchange fund and exemplary compliance with international humanitarian law. We continue the fight," Ivashchenko said.

During a meeting with the leadership of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, he discussed priorities for further cooperation to strengthen Ukrainian defenders and effectively repel Russian invaders.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 20, the first book about the work of Ukrainian intelligence, “The Island of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Secrets. Operations. War” by Maksym Butchenko, was presented in Kyiv.
