Air defenses neutralize 57 out of 69 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine overnight

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 57 out of the 69 drones launched by Russia against Ukraine starting on the evening of December 15.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force announced this on Telegram.

Stating at 18:00 on Monday, December 15, the invaders launched 69 attack UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, Gerberas, and other types of drones, from the directions of Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 40 of them were Shahed-type drones.

Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled the aerial assault.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 on Tuesday, December 16, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 57 enemy drones over southern and eastern Ukraine.

Impacts by ten attack UAVs were recorded at seven locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
