Zelensky announces personnel changes in Ukrainian Air Force
The head of state said this in his nightly video address, Ukrinform reports.
"The Air Force of the Armed Forces. There will be personnel changes there – for now in some regions, in units responsible for protection against Russian Shaheds," he said.
He stressed that the short-range air defense component – specifically countering attack drones – must operate much more effectively and "not allow the problems that exist now."
Zelensky noted that defensive lines are better built in some areas, while in others more work is still needed.
"It is important that Ukraine's minister of defense is dealing with this issue, the Air Force commander has received additional instructions, and that there are enough forces within our Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces, as well as sufficient experience that can and should be scaled up," he said.
According to him, everything that works and delivers results "in one area or another or at one level or another must be applied everywhere results are still weaker."
He also stressed that every day matters and that all decisions must be implemented as quickly as possible.
Zelensky previously described the work of the Air Force in some Ukrainian regions as unsatisfactory.
