According to Astra's OSINT analysis of one of the videos, the footage was shot on Zharovaya Street, about 1.6 kilometers from the plant. The study confirms that the Shatura TPP caught fire as a result of the attack. Likely, the power distribution node through which the station transmits electricity to the unified energy system caught fire.
The Shatura Thermal Power Plant, named after Lenin, is a 1,500 MW thermal power plant. According to public records, it is one of the oldest power plants in Russia, having been founded in 1920. It supplies electricity and heat to part of the Moscow region.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of November 22, drones attacked fuel and energy facilities in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. The Syzran Oil Refinery was hit.
