Near the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, Russian troops are reinforcing their military logistics.

According to Ukrinform, the Mariupol City Council reported this on Telegram.

"The Russian occupation authorities continue to develop logistics infrastructure around Mariupol. In the area of the village of Kalynivka, near the city, construction has begun on a dual-purpose bridge," the statement reads.

This facility will become part of a bypass road along the Novoazovsk–Crimea highway, allowing traffic to avoid Mariupol. The plan also includes a new shortened Mariupol–Taganrog railway branch passing through the Boikivske and Novoazovsk districts.

The City Council recalled that in June of this year, the leader of the so-called DPR, Denis Pushilin, declared that turning Mariupol into a logistics hub was the main goal of the occupation administration.

He emphasized that the port, railway, and highways are of key importance for the occupied territories, since "they will be used for the accelerated transfer of Russian military forces and equipment."

As reported earlier, Russian forces in Mariupol have established another base for redeploying equipment and personnel.
