Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have detained two more agents of Russia's FSB who were adjusting enemy fire on the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, one of them being the head of security at one of Dnipro's universities.

According to Ukrinform, the SBU reported this in an official statement.

"The suspects had a single FSB handler but operated in different regions, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Their main task was to locate air defense positions and temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian troops," the statement reads.

Among those detained was the FSB-recruited head of security at a leading university in Dnipro. According to the case materials, he was recruited through a relative living in Russia who works for the Russian intelligence service.

To carry out his tasks, the Dnipro resident enlisted the help of an acquaintance — the head of a water supply division in the town of Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region, located near the front line.

To collect coordinates, the agents drove around during air raid alerts in their own vehicles, observing and recording the activity of Ukrainian air defense systems.

They also covertly questioned acquaintances about the locations of Ukrainian forces and then verified the obtained geolocations.

SBU operatives detained both agents and seized evidence confirming their collaboration with the Russian intelligence service.

SBU investigators have formally charged them under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (high treason committed by a group of persons under martial law).

The suspects remain in custody without the right to bail. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a court sentenced a Russian military intelligence agent to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for directing enemy strikes in the Kyiv, Sumy, and Vinnytsia regions.
