Russian forces strike Kostiantynivka: three killed, seven injured

At least three people were killed and seven injured in Kostiantynivka as a result of Russian artillery fire and aerial bomb attacks.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform,

He said that the city came under enemy fire early in the morning. Artillery and aerial bombs damaged an administrative building, numerous private homes, and apartment blocks. The extent of the damage continues to grow, as the shelling has been nearly nonstop.

He noted that all circumstances are being carefully documented.

“Once again, I urge all civilians: protect yourselves! Evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine,” Filashkin emphasized.

Later, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office clarified the number of injured: “Three civilians were killed and seven injured as a result of Russian military attacks on Kostiantynivka — an investigation has been launched.”

The agency added that over the course of 50 minutes, Russian forces shelled Kostiantynivka using barrel artillery and Smerch multiple rocket launchers. Residential neighborhoods once again came under enemy fire.

As a result of the attack, three residents — aged 33, 76, and 78 — were killed. Four women aged 42 to 59 and three men aged 27, 59, and 61 were injured at their places of residence. The victims suffered blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and open fractures. Doctors assess their condition as moderate.

The shelling also damaged 14 private and multi-apartment buildings, as well as a passenger car.

Pre-trial investigations have been launched under Articles 438.1 and 438.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, regarding the commission of war crimes.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces wounded five civilians in the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours.
