How Kursk operation began: Special Operations Forces share exclusive footage

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have released exclusive footage revealing the launch of the Kursk operation.

According to Ukrinform, the video was published on the official Facebook page of the SOF Command.

 “Exclusive footage! How the Kursk operation began, through the eyes of the operators of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the post reads.

The video captures Ukrainian soldiers destroying a Russian surveillance complex.

As reported by Ukrinform, combat in Russia’s Kursk region began on the morning of August 6, 2024, when Ukrainian forces crossed the border near the city of Sudzha.

Within days, Ukrainian troops had advanced deep into Russian territory, reportedly gaining control over several hundred square kilometers.

This was the first Ukrainian joint military operation on the Russian border since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion
