Occupiers conduct at least 45 military drills in Crimea in six months
This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, according to Ukrinform.
“In Crimea, Russian occupiers conducted at least 45 military trainings in the first half of 2025. During the same period in 2024, there were 68 drills, in 2023 – 10, and in 2022 – 20,” the report says.
It is noted that although the total number of drills in 2025 has decreased slightly compared to the previous year, such large-scale military activity indicates the systematic militarization of the temporarily occupied peninsula. Under the guise of drills, explosions, the movement of heavy equipment, and a constant increase in military presence are taking place.
Since 2014, Russian occupation forces have been intensifying military drills, promoting military service, and conscripting Crimean residents into the Russian Armed Forces. The CRC emphasizes that such activities violate international law and cause irreversible damage to the peninsula's ecosystem.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, stated that under the guise of military drills, the Russians are practicing actions to pacify the population that is disloyal to them, in particular, the Crimean Tatars.
