Injury toll from Russian strike on Zlatopil rises to ten

A Russian strike on the town of Zlatopil in the Kharkiv region has killed a 57-year-old woman and injured her 13-year-old daughter, along with nine others.

The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv Region said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"As a result of the strike, a 57-year-old local resident was killed. Her 13-year-old daughter sustained multiple shrapnel wounds. Five women and four men also suffered various injuries. All of the wounded were hospitalized," the police said.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Russian forces used two Geran-2 drones for the attack.

The strike damaged a boiler facility, residential buildings, outbuildings, an administrative structure, and several vehicles.

The boiler facility supplied heat to a local lyceum and five two-story apartment buildings, totaling 86 consumers, Mayor Mykola Baksheiev said in a video message. He added that four houses in the private sector were destroyed. Humanitarian missions are expected to begin work near the impact site shortly.

Police have opened a criminal investigation into a war crime under Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

At around noon on July 14, Russian forces launched Shahed drone strikes on Zlatopil, killing a woman. By 13:00, at least seven people were reported injured.
