Fierce fighting continues in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group of Troops, as Russian forces attempt to reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region.

This was reported during a television broadcast by Major Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia OSGT, according to Ukrinform.

“It’s a rather tense day, with high intensity across the entire front. This isn’t news — it’s simply a sign that Russia’s summer campaign is underway and its goals are quite clear: to reach the borders of Dnipropetrovsk region, to break through the center of Donetsk region, and to apply pressure everywhere they still can. These are just active combat operations with no surprises, but at very high intensity,” Trehubov explained.

He noted that the situation in the Kupiansk sector remains difficult, with ongoing battles and Russian attempts to reach the town itself. However, despite Russian propaganda, there have been no significant breakthroughs.

Regarding the Lyman sector, Trehubov reported that 17 Russian assault attempts were recorded within the past day.

He also emphasized that Russian forces are still far from capturing Kramatorsk, just as they were six months or a year ago.

“They haven’t been able to take Chasiv Yar. Yes, they’ve heavily damaged the town. Yes, they’ve attempted to outflank it from the north. Yes, they entered and captured part of its territory. But ultimately, there's no progress toward Kramatorsk that could be considered a breakthrough. As of now, Russians continue to engage in intense urban fighting in and around Chasiv Yar,” he said.

The same situation applies to Toretsk, he added.

Trehubov pointed out that Russian attempts to seize Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, and nearby settlements are key objectives of the enemy’s summer campaign, which have not been successful so far.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Major Viktor Trehubov stated that during the military campaign launched in late spring, Russia is aiming to achieve some results on the battlefield before autumn.
