U.S. Embassy warns of risk of "significant air attacks"
This was stated on the embassy’s website.
Diplomats note that in recent weeks, Russia has increased the intensity of missile and drone attacks against Ukraine, and stressed a “continued risk of significant air attacks”.
"The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv urges U.S. citizens to exercise appropriate caution. As always, we recommend you be prepared to shelter immediately in the event an air alert is announced," the embassy warned.
American citizens were recommended to identify shelter locations in advance, download an air raid alert app to their mobile phones, follow news in Ukrainian media and the instructions of Ukrainian officials and emergency response services in the event of an emergency.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 3, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported that the Russians may attack Ukraine's energy grid, as well as launch new waves of medium-range ballistic missiles, which the Kremlin still has enough in stock.
U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on his Wednesday's phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, said the latter told him Russia would have to "respond" to Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb, the simultaneous surprise drone attack on strategic bombers at four Russian airfields.
