War update: 66 clashes on frontline since day-start, fighting ongoing in five sectors
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
"The enemy continues its attempts to advance deeper into Ukraine's territory. To date, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 66 times. The most active operations are in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk sctores," the report reads.
According to the General Staff, Russian artillery fire has affected border areas, including the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Baranivka, Starykove, Komarivka in Sumy region, and Arkhypivka in Chernihiv region.
The enemy launched six attacks on the Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk sector, near the settlements of Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove, with one engagement still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian units repelled two attacks in the area of Myrne.
Four combat engagements were recorded in the Siversk sector, with ongoing fighting near Verkhniokamianske and Ivano-Dariivka.
In the Toretsk sector, there were nine enemy attacks. The occupiers targeted the areas of Toretsk, Druzhba, and Ozarianivka. The Ukrainian defenders are giving a worthy response, and currently, four combat engagements are still ongoing.
The General Staff reported that the hottest spot today is the Pokrovsk sector: since the beginning of the day, the invaders launched 27 attacks on the Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Dachenske, Novoukrainka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Nadiivka, and Andriivka. Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 17 attacks, while ten combat engagements are still ongoing. The enemy's aviation struck Pokrovsk and Leontovychi with guided aerial bombs.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the invaders launched six attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, and Burlatske, but all attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian defenders.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three attacks in the areas of Pryvіlne and Novodarivka. The enemy's unguided rockets struck the settlements of Novopil and Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv sector, with the support of assault aviation, the invaders are attacking in the areas of Piatykhatky and toward Novoandriivka. One attack has been repelled, while two are ongoing.
In the Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, and Prydniprovske sectors, the Russians have not carried out active offensive actions today.
In Russia’s Kursk region, according to the latest available information, the Ukrainian defenders repelled one attack by the enemy. Additionally, the Russian forces launched three airstrikes, dropping four guided aerial bombs, and carried out 144 artillery shellings, including eight from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
No significant changes have been reported in other sectors, as noted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, stated that Russian forces are trying to breach border in Sumy region to encircle the Ukrainian Defense Forces located in Kursk region.
