War update: 74 combat clashes on front lines in past day

In the past 24 hours, 74 combat clashes were reported on the front lines in Ukraine.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“In the past day, 74 combat engagements took place. Russian invaders carried out 7 missile attacks and 10 airstrikes, as well as 86 MLRS attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged,” the report says.

According to the General Staff, the Russian occupiers launched another attack on Ukraine overnight Monday, using eight Shahed-136/131 UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all enemy drones.

Krasnyi Khutir of the Chernihiv region; Rozhkovychi of the Sumy region came under enemy airstrikes.

More than 110 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were subjected to Russian artillery fire.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna sectors, the enemy keeps military presence in the border area, conducting active subversive activities in order to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to threatening directions and increasing the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Pishchane, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled six Russian attacks near Terny and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back enemy attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers remain on the defensive, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Over the past day, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 21 enemy attacks near Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and 5 more attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka sector, Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the enemy near Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 22 attacks were repelled.

In the Shakhtarske sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled an enemy attack north of Priutne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson sector, the defense forces continue to take measures to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy still attempts to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. In the past day, the enemy carried out eight unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

At the same time, Ukrainian warriors continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

"Over the past day, aircraft of the Defense Forces struck six enemy manpower clusters. Ukrainian air defense forces also destroyed one Kh-59 guided missile. Missile troops hit one enemy artillery unit and one EW station," the General Staff of the Armed Forces summarized.

As reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated about 382,110 Russian invaders since February 24, 2022.
