Ukraine's defense forces continued offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions.

Andrii Kovaliov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukraine's defense forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions. In the Bakhmut sector, defense forces are conducting offensive operations to the south of Bakhmut. They achieved success to the east of Klishchiivka and to the east of Andriivka," Kovaliov said.

According to him, Russian invaders in that sector made more than 50 unsuccessful attempts to regain ground. Due to heavy losses, the Russians are moving additional units there.

Kovaliov added that in the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy made five unsuccessful attempts to recapture territory near Robotyne. Russian troops are also trying to surround Avdiivka, but the Ukrainian soldiers stand their ground, inflicting heavy losses on the occupiers. The defense forces also continue offensive operations on the Melitopol axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the invading forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line. On the Marinka and Shakhtarske axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 125 enemy attacks in the past week.

"In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy continues offensive operations outside Synkivka, Novopavlivka and Ivanivka of the Kharkiv region and Nadiia and Makiivka of the Luhansk region. In these sectors, Ukrainian soldiers repelled about 45 enemy attacks, inflicting considerable losses on the enemy in both manpower and heavy weapons," Kovaliov added.

About 60 combat clashes took place across the front in the past 24 hours. Ukrainian aircraft launched 16 strikes on the enemy.
