In the Kharkiv region, it is impossible to restore electricity supply to 1,500 subscribers due to Russian shelling.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said this in a commentary to the media, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We plan to restore electricity supply to about two thousand customers by the New Year. These are, in particular, the Lipetsk, Derhachi, Izyum and Vovchansk directions. And there are 1,500 subscribers we cannot restore power because they are very close to the front line and the border with Russia. As soon as the power engineers arrive on the spot, they immediately come under targeted fire from tanks, mortars and heavy artillery," said Syniehubov.

He noted that the area is also still mined.

He added that residents who do not have electricity or gas in their homes are offered evacuation to Kharkiv, at least for the winter. "There are resources for this, there are places in university dormitories. People are being evacuated absolutely free of charge," said Syniehubov.

As reported, about 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under fire yesterday. Three civilians were injured.
