Number of injured in missile strike on Chernihiv rises to 214

The number of people injured following a Russian missile strike on Chernihiv city on August 19 has increased to 214, while 47 people are still in hospitals.

This was discussed at an extended meeting at the Chernihiv City Council with the heads of structural subdivisions and utility enterprises, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.  

"A total of 214 people were injured. As of today, there are 47 people in hospitals… Ten have already been discharged," said Vladyslav Kuhar, Director General of Chernihiv City Hospital No.2.

According to him, two patients, including a child, remain in serious condition. The child received a mine and explosive injury. The child’s condition is serious, but stable.

One adult and three children were taken to Kyiv, two of them are not severe patients, "but they are from Kyiv, it is more convenient for them to be treated at home," noted Kuhar.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian invaders attacked the center of Chernihiv in the afternoon on Saturday, August 19. Seven people were killed, including one child.
