Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley in a phone call on Monday discussed the operational situation on the front line and the Ukrainian military's current demand for weapons and ammunition.

Zaluzhnyi said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.

"I talked about the operational situation at the front. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct defensive and offensive operations. Regarding defense, it is stable. Our soldiers are doing their best for this. In a number of sectors, the enemy is conducting active assault operations, but there is no success. In particular, this is linked to an effort to distract Ukrainian forces from certain areas of the front," Zaluzhnyi said.

He also noted that heavy fighting continues, with Ukrainian troops gradually continuing to create conditions for their movement forward. According to him, the initiative is on the side of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military's current demand for weapons and ammunition was also discussed during the call.

"I thanked our partners for their help and support. We agreed to stay in touch and actively interact," Zaluzhnyi said.
