Due to shelling, bad weather, there are power outages in six regions
That's according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"Repair crews are working where the security situation allows. In total, over the past day, power companies have supplied electricity to almost 12.000 consumers. Most of them are in Donetsk region," the statement reads.
At the same time, some consumers in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions remain without power supply as a result of shelling. In particular, 11.400 subscribers in Kherson region are still disconnected due to flooding. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but the work is slowed down by constant enemy shelling.
The Ministry of Energy also reports that 3,000 consumers in Sumy region are without power due to the bad weather. In Dnipropetrovsk region, some consumers are left without electricity due to technological disruptions.
In general, as of August 1, the repair campaign at power plants is ongoing. The electricity generated is enough to cover the needs of consumers.
It is noted that commercial electricity imports over the past day amounted to 2,980 MWh. There were no exports.
As reported, despite the difficult situation for the energy sector in August, NPC Ukrenergo does not plan to apply emergency blackouts to consumers. The electricity shortage will be overcome by imports.
