As a result of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as of the morning of April 17, there are electricity outages in seven regions.

The National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" stated this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"The enemy continues attacks on energy infrastructure. As a result of drone strikes on energy facilities, there are power outages among consumers in the Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions as of the morning. Where security conditions currently allow, emergency restoration work has already begun. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible," the statement said.

It is noted that electricity consumption is showing a downward trend. Today, April 17, as of 09:30, consumption was 3.7% lower than at the same time the previous day, Thursday. The reason for the change is clear weather in many regions, which enables efficient operation of household solar power plants.

Yesterday, April 16, the daily peak consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 1.7% lower than the peak of the previous day, Wednesday, April 15. The reason is warmer weather across most regions of Ukraine. Ukrenergo emphasized that it is advisable to shift active electricity consumption to the period of most efficient solar generation, from 11:00 to 15:00. The need for economical consumption in the evening remains. "Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 18:00 to 22:00," the company added.

As Ukrinform reports, Ukrenergo does not forecast power outages for Friday, April 17.
