The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that in the early hours of August 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to attack the Russian Black Sea Fleet's patrol ships Sergey Kotov and Vasily Bykov.
The ministry reported this on its Telegram channel, according to Ukrinform.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the incident occurred in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, 340 kilometers southwest of the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol.
Three sea drones were used in the attack and were destroyed, the ministry said.
On July 25, the Russian military also blamed Ukraine for attacking the Sergey Kotov ship in the Black Sea. Two unscrewed surface vessels were allegedly used and the attack was allegedly repelled.
The Sergey Kotov ship went on patrol to the southern part of the Black Sea shortly after Moscow announced its withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
