
Russian armed aggression affects over 1,579 children in Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of July 31, 2023, according to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 498 children were killed and over 1,081 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (483), Kharkiv region (298), Kyiv region (129), Kherson region (116), Zaporizhzhia region (97), Mykolaiv region (95), Dnipropetrovsk region (85), Chernihiv region (71), and Luhansk region (67).
On July 30, 2023, a boy, 13, was injured in Russian shelling of the Donetsk region’s Kostiantynivka.
A reminder that, as of June 2023, at least 20,000 Ukrainian children, who had been deported by Russia, were identified. More than 4,500 of them are orphans or children deprived of parental care.
