Kim: No plans to demine ports in Mykolayiv so far
"We do not plan to start demining the ports now, although this issue is important and we are working on it. The regional military administration and the Naval Forces discussed this problem and defined the tools needed to demine the water areas. But this question is untimely now," Head of the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim said during the United News national telethon.
To justify his opinion, he noted that, first of all, Mykolayiv region was not involved in the grain deal. And, second, the enemy is stationed on the Kinburn Spit, 4 km from Ochakiv town. That is why Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities are shelled almost every day. Therefore, it is inappropriate to take up this matter now.
Kim also emphasized that now the Russians were not targeting Mykolayiv ports. Instead, they fire missiles at peaceful residential neighborhoods with no industrial or military facilities.
As reported, 29 foreign ships have been in Mykolayiv ports since the beginning of the full-scale war.
