Cherevaty on company of Kadyrov’s soldiers near Bakhmut: This is marketing, not military tactics
"There is a small unit [of Kadyrov’s soldiers] near Klishchiyivka, probably up to a company," Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News telethon.
Cherevaty called the presence of Kadyrov’s forces in Bakhmut direction rather a marketing ploy than a manifestation of military tactics.
"Kadyrov’s forces are more about marketing than military affairs. That is, Kadyrov has to work off the billions that were invested in his regime and show how he is trying to thank his master. But as a military unit, they do not give any great results," Cherevaty said.
According to him, the colossal losses near Bakhmut force the Russians to amass "mixed" troops there. In particular, an elite unit of airborne troops, a unit of the Russian special forces, a unit of the Bars special combat army reserve, and a "Storm-Z" unit are stationed in this direction.
"The enemy is trying its best to hold this city, just as it tried to capture it with all its might before. Undoubtedly, today, in addition to military significance, Bakhmut also has informational and propaganda significance. The Russians wasted so much personnel and equipment on this city! In fact, they destroyed one of their most capable units, the Wagner, and did not achieve their ambitious goals," said the spokesman for the Eastern Group of Forces.
